Here's how it works with
EFTPS-Direct: Step 1: By 8:00 p.m. ET at least one calendar day prior to your tax due date, you log on, enter your tax payment report, review the information, and click "Submit" to initiate the payment. Step 2: Per your instructions, EFTPS will automatically debit your indicated bank or credit union account and will transfer the funds to the U.S. Treasury on the date you indicate. Your tax records will be updated with the IRS. STEP 3: That's it! 24 hours a day, 7 days a week you can access this site and initiate all your federal tax payments from the convenience of your home or office.
But you must first enroll. Complete the online New Taxpayer Enrollment Form and click "Submit." Within 15 business days your Personal Identification Number (PIN) will be mailed to the IRS Address of Record. You will also receive Confirmation materials including instructions on how

About EFTPS for Individuals EFTPS is currently being used by millions of business taxpayers to make their federal tax payments electronically. Now individuals can use EFTPS-Online to make recurring payments throughout the year.
If you make estimated or installment payments on a quarterly or monthly basis, EFTPS-Online will make it easy for you. From your home or office you can conveniently and quickly make your tax payments no matter where you are when your taxes are due. Using the payment scheduling capability built into EFTPS, you can input your payment instructions up to 365 days in advance.
What are the cost of using EFTPS? Believe it or not its free! The government does not charge a fee for this using EFTPS.
